In Ramayana Rama represents our soul (self) , Sita
represents mind (maya) , Laxmana
represents renunciation (thapas) , Bharatha represents discrimination ,
Shathrukhana represents thoughts and Hanuman for intelligence (budhi). King Dasharatha is one
who conquered all the ten indriyas and Ravana (Dashamugha) the realm of pure
materialism.
